Partners

Those who join up with the life of the Rooted are called partners. They are far more than mere spectators or attenders. Ephesians 4 (among other places) tells us that ministry should be driven by the individual members of a church:

Grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift…And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…(7, 11).

Leaders must “equip the saints for the work of ministry,” not do it for them. We love to celebrate and encourage the good works being done by the partners who make up the Rooted. After all, every member of Jesus’ Church is a holy saint, a royal priest, and a Spirit-gifted member of the body of Christ. So our priority is always to support the good works in which our people are involved.
