City Groups
The mission of God is to restore all things to himself in and through the person and work of Jesus. His chosen vehicle through which he is accomplishing that mission is the church. The church is the family of God, called together by him and sent out on his mission. City Groups are the primary means through which we mobilize people together on mission and connect people to each other in gospel-centered community.
A City Group is a missional community – a group of people seeking to be shaped by the gospel and to live out the mission of God together. They consist of committed Christians who are seeking to be missionaries in their own culture, newer Christians who are learning to live on mission, and sojourners who are not yet convinced of the gospel of Jesus. To clarify, a City Group is not primarily a small group, Bible study, support group, social activist group, or weekly meeting. Rather, a City Group is devoted to the pursuit of glorifying God in all of life.

Kids & City Groups
Ultimately, the leader and community will decide how they will address the issue of caring for children during meetings. Each group is responsible for their own childcare, and we recommend that each group seek a creative solution together.
Some groups are intentionally “family-integrated” – they make a conscious effort to include children as appropriate. Some might be able to get a sitter to watch the kids in one part of the house while the group meets in another room. For groups with another home nearby, one person may watch the kids there while the community meets. Some rotate people out of the group to take care of the children. Some group members prefer to find their own babysitters. These are just a few of the solutions that groups have come up with. When you join a City Group, communicate with the leader to find out how they coordinate childcare.
