City Groups

A City Group is a missional community – a group of people seeking to be shaped by the gospel and to live out the mission of God together. They are made up of committed Christians who are seeking to bring all of life in line with the gospel, newer Christians who are just learning this Jesus-thing, and sojourners who are not yet sold on any of it.

City Groups are crucial to us because it’s where we learn to actually live life together. To really experience the Rooted, use the map above to find a City Group near you, then email the leader to let them know you’re coming. Don’t worry, we’re used to having folks drop in. If you’re uncomfortable contacting a leader directly - or if you don’t know which City Group best fits you or you have other questions - feel free to contact us and we’ll help you out.

Kids & City Groups

Ultimately, the leader and community will decide how they will address the issue of caring for children during meetings. Each group is responsible for their own childcare, and we recommend that each group seek a creative solution together.

Some groups are intentionally “family-integrated” – they make a conscious effort to include children as appropriate. Some might be able to get a sitter to watch the kids in one part of the house while the group meets in another room. For groups with another home nearby, one person may watch the kids there while the community meets. Some rotate people out of the group to take care of the children. Some group members prefer to find their own babysitters.  These are just a few of the solutions that groups have come up with. When you join a City Group, communicate with the leader to find out how they coordinate childcare.
