Life in the Rooted

The Rooted is a family of people living in and around Fort Worth who are fighting to be about Jesus, community, and mission.

We want to be honest: what we’re after is joyful allegiance to Jesus in all things. If your allegiances are elsewhere, you’ll get no judgment from us. You can travel with us any time. We hope to be good friends, and maybe you’ll hear and see something compelling in us.

Those who join up with the life of the Rooted live our lives with gospel intentionality within the city God has placed us. In other words, we live lives that are being changed by the grace of Jesus (and therefore are distinct from the culture around us) while also being good friends, neighbors, and citizens of our city (as opposed to living as some strange sub-culture). You could say we want to grow in the new identities Jesus gives us through the rhythms that he has built into everyday life.

To do this as a family, we encourage people to live life together in 3 contexts: City GroupsSunday gatherings, and Fight Clubs. Whether you think Jesus is the King, a fool, or just an interesting fellow, you are welcome to drop in on anything we do.

We are a part of the Acts 29 Network of churches and are partnered with the BGCT. As a church community, we meet in and have made a lifelong commitment to the area of Fort Worth known as Near Southside. We’re about…

Jesus

Making much of Jesus is behind all that we do. His glory is that happiness for which we were made.

Community

We’re a band of servants, a school of learners, a family bonded together to grow in and celebrate Jesus.

Mission

This isn’t just for us. Jesus sends us out, that through his people he might redeem others by the power of his grace.
