Jesus: “The Harmony of All Virtues”

There’s an old book from the 1860s called The Person of Christ: The Perfection of His Humanity Viewed as a Proof of His Divinity by Philip Schaff. It describes and celebrates the character, the humanity, and the divinity of Jesus. In one section Schaff discusses the way all virtues and graces are exemplified in Jesus Christ.

Read these 4 paragraphs and be driven to dwell on the perfections of Jesus all over again.

How to Win a Game without Losing Your Testimony

Tim Tebow is everywhere (or at least he was until last weekend). Fortunately, football is not the most important thing to him.

Dad, Thank You For Building A Gospel Legacy

One young man reflects on what it meant and continues to mean to have a godly father. Beautiful.

I think it’s funny how our favorite thing ended up being to go to Sizzler and drive new cars at the dealership. Cheese bread and new-car smell are some of my favorite memories. Really, I think I just loved hanging out with you.

Homemade People

“Homes are tremendously powerful places, because they are where people come from. There is no more important thing that you could be doing. You do not go home to hide from the world, you go home to change it.”

The 4 paragraphs from “The Harmony of all Virtues”… YEESH! One of the most beautiful things I’ve ever read. Wept through the whole thing. For someone who often professes to have an extremely vivid and over-active imagination, I fail (epically, some might say), at being able to truly visualize the nature of Christ, as a man, much less as God himself. So when a set of words so perfectly paints the picture that I seem to be missing, so much so that it moves me to tears for countless reasons (including realizing how little I know and love Jesus)… WHEW!! I can’t get enough of that! EVER! So I bought the book. Just now. I haven’t been this excited about reading (or receiving mail) in… well, ever. But to think, that even the most eloquent and worshipful of writers do not even scratch the surface of the insane and outrageous grace that abounds from Christ! That just tickles me pink.

Got something to say? Go for it!
